How to FRUIT: 10 tips for your visit
1. List your goals and reasons for taking part
At the end of a trade fair the question often posed is “was it worth the effort?” In order to give an answer it is important to set out clear goals beforehand and align them with your company strategy: what are my reasons for taking part? What questions do I want to find answers to? Whom do I want to meet?
2. Check your event calendar prior to the event
Often, day one of the fair is over before one has found one’s way around. Many lectures only take place once, so it is a pity finding out on day three what one would have liked to attend on day one. Our summary of events lists all the formats, keynote speeches, forums and panel discussions so that you can put together an efficient schedule.
3. Organise meetings at FRUIT LOGISTICA online
It would be a coincidence if the person you wanted to meet on the stand happens to be available just when you arrive. As a rule exhibitors have a full schedule, so it is best not to bank on a chance meeting. Make use of FRUIT LOGISTICA online to get in touch before the fair and book dates. Registration on the portal is free of charge. By the way, if you do miss a presentation, you can find it here as a video on demand.
4. Make contact via the FRUIT LOGISTICA app
The FRUIT LOGISTICA app ensures you are always up-to-date – even when you are offline. This is where you can find exhibitors, products, events and hall plans. You can also bookmark favourites, and under “My Fair“ you can link information and dates with your profile on FRUIT LOGISTICA online. Every app user has their own QR code. If you scan someone else’s QR code, their contact details will automatically appear in your “Networking“ contacts.
5. Smart directions and the right footwear
Did you know that Hall 1 and Hall 27 are next door to each other, just like Hall 18 and Hall 11? Make use of our hall plan and plan your itinerary beforehand. Schedule meetings with companies who are in the same hall for the same time window. Make use of shuttle services inside and outside the grounds. And please note… FRUIT LOGISTICA is not the ideal place for running in your best pair of new shoes, but more likely where you will be setting step counter records. We seriously recommend comfortable footwear.
6. Don’t forget to eat
You are at the world’s leading trade fair for the fresh produce sector and haven’t had a bite to eat. Something that outsiders are not aware of is what trade visitors are all too familiar with. Between appointments, meetings and lectures we sometimes forget our basic needs. Why not start your day with a free early morning coffee between 8 and 9 a.m. in Hall 7.2at the entrance to the fair. The Catering Guide lists 36 stops offering refreshments, including a bakery shop, coffee lounges, bistros and restaurants. The Bavarian Bistro in Hall 26 is new at the fair.
7. Enjoy after work events
We hereby invite you to our after work events. Enjoy a drink at the bar and leave the hustle and bustle of the fair behind you with relaxing music at the end of the day. On Wednesday and Thursday the after work events are from 4.30 to 7 p.m. in two locations: the “Lichthof“ area between Hall 1.1 and Hall 2.1, and at the north entrance in Hall 19. On Friday we are meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. in the “Lichthof“ area between Hall 1.1 and Hall 2.1. Trade visitors with a Gold Upgrade will receive a free drink.
8. Cast your vote for an FLIA innovation
The FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award (FLIA) recognises outstanding innovatios in the entire fresh produce supply chain and has become the most important award of the fresh produce sector. In addition to the FLIA, the presentation is also taking place of the FLIA Technology prize for outstanding innovations in machinery and technology. Visit the special displays for some inspiring products.
FLIA: “Trompete“ (passageway connecting Halls 20/21) and FLIA Technology: “Lichthof“ (connecting Halls 1.1/2.1). You can also take part in exclusive tours of the FLIA Technology nominees. Don’t forget to cast your vote. Only the trade visitors decide who wins.
9. Find useful answers
Sometimes one needs answers to unexpected questions, such as where to find the nearest pharmacy, first aid or an ATM. Our FAQscontain useful information for your visit, including on wi-fi acess, parking areas and separate breastfeeding rooms.
10. Stay connected
Even with the best preparations, a trade fair may come to an end offering little results when we are back in our day-to-day work routine, and the important contacts we previously made do not materialise as business leads. Stay connected with FRUIT LOGISTICA online and the FRUIT LOGISTICA app. Or keep in touch via social media channels such as LinkedIn – or by traditional email. The more information you exchange the more ideas will come up. Let‘s keep the heartbeat going!
