The international banana business faces an existential threat from disease, including TR4 and Black sigatoka. To combat this threat, a number of companies have looked to develop new methods of crop protection. Others have tried to identify and grow new varieties that are more resistant. One company, Innoterra, thinks it has come up with a new variety and a new method of crop protection. Together, these innovations could offer more security of banana supply.
