Intrahorti obtains the active ingredient for its new Intra Boost biostimulant from willow bark. It increases plant resistance to stress factors such as drought and extreme temperatures. By mimicking the plant's own defence mechanisms it primes them to respond more effectively to stress factors. Intra Boost can be easily applied prior to anticipated stress situations, before transplanting for example. The active ingredient ensures plants remain resistant, robust and productive. It acts as a signalling molecule which triggers the plant's stress response mechanisms such as heat shock proteins or antioxidant systems. Improved plant resilience ultimately reduces the need for fruit and vegetable pesticides.
